The Pianist Cornelia Lenzin was born in Basel in 1968. She studied the piano with Janka and Jürg Wyttenbach at the Basel Music Academy and continued her musical education under Hayat Ogilvie at the Alanus University of Arts and Social Science in Bonn and at the University of Music, Freiburg (Germany), where she majored in piano chamber music with Professor Helmut Barth. She graduated in 1997 with a concert diploma.
Cornelia’s focus continues to be on chamber music and vocal accompaniment.
She often performs with orchestras such as the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra as well as the Collegium Musicum Basel and works with with different chamber music formations and as a vocal accompanist.
Cornelia has won prestigious prizes such as the Concorse Internationale di Musica – Citta’ di Tortona (I) with her then duo-partner Martin Merker.
She regularly performs with different musicians, and as a duo with sopranos Aurea Marston (Basel) and Dorothee Kurmann (Zurich).
Cornelia also works as répétiteur for competitions, exams and theatre productions.


2004-2014 the pianist organizes the concerts series "MusiKontext", characterized by thematic programs out of the ordinary. Since 2015 she plans and plays regularly for the concert series "Basel Komponiert" of the Museum "Kleines Klingental", Basel. 

Since 2016 she lives and workes frequently in her second residency in Andalucia where she already appeared in several important concerts like in "Sociedad filarmónica de Málaga".

The composers persecuted for political reasons are of special interest to her. 
Her repertoire also includes numerous works by women composers.
